This privacy policy explains how Nellie Connect Ltd ("we", "us", "our") handles your data when you use Jerrie, our UK fuel price comparison app.

Jerrie is designed to be privacy-friendly. We collect the minimum data needed to show you fuel prices near your location. We do not require an account, and we do not track you.

Information We Collect

• Location — your GPS coordinates or postcode are used to find nearby fuel stations. Your location is sent to our server to perform the search, but we do not store your location history.
• Vehicle registration — if you choose to look up your vehicle, the registration number is sent to the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service to retrieve vehicle details (make, fuel type, CO2 emissions). We do not store your registration number on our servers.
• Device preferences — your chosen search radius, saved car details, trip history, and postcode are stored locally on your device using browser storage (localStorage). This data never leaves your device and is not sent to our servers.

Jerrie does not collect your name, email address, or any other personal information. No account is required to use the app.

How We Use Your Data

• To show you fuel prices at nearby fuel stations
• To look up your vehicle details from DVLA (only when you request it)
• To calculate fuel cost estimates based on your car's MPG

We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the core service.

Third-Party Services

Jerrie uses the following third-party services to function:

• GOV.UK Fuel Finder — UK Government statutory fuel price data. No personal data is shared.
• DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service — vehicle lookup by registration number. Only the registration number is sent; no other personal data is shared.
• Postcodes.io — converts postcodes to coordinates. No personal data is shared.
• Mapbox — real-time traffic data around fuel stations. Only station coordinates are sent; no personal data is shared.
• OpenStreetMap — map tiles. No personal data is shared.
• OSRM — route calculation for trip planning. Only coordinates are sent; no personal data is shared.

Data Storage

On your device: Preferences, saved cars, and search history are stored in your browser's localStorage. You can clear this at any time by clearing your browser/app data.

On our servers: Fuel price data is cached on our UK-based servers (sourced from GOV.UK). We do not store any personal data on our servers. All connections use HTTPS encryption.

Cookies

Jerrie uses localStorage (not cookies) to store your preferences. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Children's Privacy

Jerrie is a general-purpose utility app suitable for all ages (4+). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children or any other users.

Your Rights

Since Jerrie does not store personal data on our servers, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, or delete. Your device-stored preferences can be cleared at any time through your device settings.
